Hi Laurab, actually it is in fact a photo. If you look up HDR or tone mapped images, you'll see there is a technique that you can do to give your photo a styled look. I WISH I could draw like that! lol
LMAO. Don't you just love when people of no significance make demands? hahaha, Maybe we should demand that clintonman doesn't work part time at Wendy's. "Would you like fries with that?" lol
Ouch... Lotsa drama in here. BUT.. He does have a point. It is way overprocessed and a fake HDR. Nice touch sticking in fake Stella sign. If you win, you gonna give credit to Adobe and the person you copied the Stella sign from? And yes... I am a sore loser. LOLOLOL
LOL, no kidding about the drama. Who knew people had so much time to complain? No need to be a sore loser Jaylam, the contest isn't over yet. You have a pretty sweet pic, so I'm not sure why you're counting yourself out.
Not sure why JAYLAM is crying about photoShop, if you look at his photo, he obviously did some photoshop'n himself. Contrast and slight softening of the photo. Amateurish, but photoShop none the less.
Where in the rules does it say no PhotoShop?
Hey.. which of you tards removed my posts? Oh well.. Didn't think that a site for 18 year and over croud would have such sensitive bitches. boo hoo... yeah, I said it.
DANOSBORNE's a Fairy! Dan... Hey Dan... Run to the pharmacie and buy a wind up disposible camera. Take a pic of your trailor home and post it here. I'll vote for ya... promise.
JAYLAME, seeing as you are such a GREAT photographer, I decided to take your expert advice. I bought a crappy disposable, took a pic of my house and posted it. It turned out like crap as you can see from the link below. I know you promised to vote, but I don't blame you if you don't. I wouldn't.
http://www.clubstellaartois.ca/photo_contest_photo/360#
Ok... as a professional photographer I have a few issues with this supposed picture..
1. It is not an HDR as you claim, as HDR pictures have to be taken with a tripod with perfectly non changing conditions. (ie a boat would bob to much (even in Venice) with the current of the water)
2. The metering is taken on three levels... one + one - and one at neutral. There are to many tonal ranges on this picture to qualify for an HDR shot.
3. I saved the picture from this post and dropped it into Lightroom and Photoshop.. There are 5 major elements to the picture that all have been created. (My question is did you own any of the original work?) I have found two of the pictures used just by a Google search.
I personally feel that although the picture is amazing, and truly shows your Photoshop skills, it s not a true picture. I also worry for Stella Artois that if they chose this picture as used it in there advertisements they could leave themselves open to major class action suits.
Next note, I do not have any of my pictures posted for this contest, so this is just my opinion.
Hi KellyAnneb, I much appreciate your professional view.
just to be clear, I never claimed this photo was anything. I simply referred someone who felt this photo was a painting to look up HDR or tone mapping to see they are techniques out there that give a painting like effect. :-) HDR AND tone mapping can achieve that look. :-)
Thanks for your comments
P.S. Yes, this is original. and I'm flattered you think this pic is amazing. You should post your work, would love to see it.
this is a tone mapped image.
I don't think I understand this contest....
I agree with a lot of the photoshop comments
But this is a great photo
I think maybe a split screen with the original photo would be a better judge, or a new description of the contest should be laid out.
I only make the comment here because it has the most votes.
I don't understand why anyone would be confused about why this photo got removed. It was a heavily doctored photograph mixed with content that was added in after the photo was taken. Plus the added content wasn't even his. This should not be allowed in a PHOTO contest. Period.
Why is everyone so riled up over this photo? It looks nice, but it's certainly not amazing, even with the photoshopping. I've seen a great deal of photos that are more deserving for first place than this.
I agree with TheWorst...there a lot better photos out there than this one, and i'm glad the original was pulled. It was so doctored, it didn't qualify. This is about how good a photo you can take, without having to doctor and add unlicensed content to it.
